Field Notes

The best POS is the one you forget is there.

The busiest moment in any shop is a queue that will not wait. In those minutes, software should disappear: no spinner, no pop-up, no “are you sure?”. We spent months behind real tills, timing every tap. Then we cut the taps. This is what a quieter till did for the people using it.

Editor’s note

Built for the shop, not the boardroom.

Most till software is built for people who have never stood behind a counter. SumsPOS is the opposite.

One system runs the whole shop: sales, stock, staff, and money in one place. It keeps working when the internet does not. And the price is plain, with nothing hidden.

That is the whole idea. Serve the customer in front of you faster, and know your numbers at the end of the day. Everything we write here comes back to that.

Your shop should not stop when the internet does.

Power cuts and patchy network are normal. So we made every sale go through offline and settle the moment you are back. No sale ever lost.
